Double chin – how to get rid of it?
It adds years, distorts the face oval and causes serious complexes. It is difficult to hide. Where does a double chin come from and what are the methods to effectively and safely remove it?What are the causes of a double chin?

Accumulation of excessive amounts of fat tissue under the chin, which often coexists with less and less elastic and firm skin. This problem affects both slim and excessively "round" people;

Maintaining an incorrect head position: slouching, sleeping on a pillow that is too large;

Genetic conditions.

Improper diet, which promotes water retention in the body - rich in sugar, salt, alcohol;

Excessive exposure to the sun promotes sagging skin;

Significant weight loss and the associated sagging excess skin under the chin;

Sagging skin associated with age and gravity;

Hypothyroidism (goiter)

Double chin – exercisesEliminating this defect using traditional methods, such as diet or exercise is difficult, but it is worth reaching for them, even if they do not promise spectacular effects. It is worth remembering about prevention - prevention is better than cure.Regular exercises that increase the tension of the neck and chin muscles, and by improving blood supply and oxygenation - skin firmness and tension, e.g. sticking out the tongue, lifting the chin up and tightening the neck muscles, turning the head in different directions; double chin massage; taking care of proper posture during the day and night; changes in diet and lifestyle that help reduce the amount of fat tissue and the visibility of the double chin; avoiding simple sugars and saturated fats and consuming large amounts of protein, vegetables and fruit to support the weight loss process and improve skin elasticity; limiting sunbathing.Laser has power!Neither prevention nor daily home treatments and care will help effectively get rid of a double chin. It is also hindered by reduced fat metabolism in this area. You have to reach for aesthetic medicine treatments. One of the best is laser fat removal using the technologically advanced 6D® laser treatment, which uses two wavelengths of the erbium-yag (Er:YAG) and neodymium-yag (Nd:YAG) laser.Laser lipolysis breaks down fat tissue in a minimally invasive way, regenerates the skin, stimulates the creation of new collagen fibers and improves skin quality.How does the laser work?The light beam penetrates fat cells, which shrink and die (apoptosis) under its influence, and are finally absorbed by the body's lymphatic system. The broken fat cell membranes and triglycerides become a liquid emulsion. The procedure takes about 30-40 minutes, depending on the amount of fat that needs to be removed. Laser lipolysis is painless and does not require convalescence. The results are visible after 2-6 weeks, and the optimal effect appears up to 6 months after the procedure. You should intensively massage your chin with a special cream to stimulate circulation and hydrate the skin. Another essential component of the procedure is skin tightening with a laser so that the empty spaces after fat removal do not hang even more. This part of the procedure is also painless and does not require convalescence. The effect is visible immediately after the procedure. The effectiveness of the 6D laser procedure is compared to surgical liposuction.Effective double chin treatmentsThe methods for getting rid of a double chin are different, but the main goal is to break down and remove fat tissue, firm and improve skin tension. Double chin treatments are minimally invasive, safe and effective. They provide lasting and visible results in improving the face oval. Methods are often combined for optimal effect.

Ultrasound waves generated by the HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) device focus on the chin area. Local heating of tissues leads to shortening of collagen fibers and stimulation of new collagen production. As a result, the skin becomes firmer, tighter and more elastic, and the contour of the face is more pronounced. The broken fat tissue is removed faster by the body. This minimally invasive, but painful procedure does not require convalescence. With a small amount of fat, the effect is visible after just one treatment and lasts up to two years. Unfortunately, the downside is that with a large amount of fat, the effect is not spectacular and long-lasting.

RF radio waves (radiofrequency) is a non-invasive and painless method, effective when the double chin is the result of sagging skin. Intense micro-vibrations of fat cells break them down and then release them from the body through the lymphatic channels. Radio waves increase the temperature of the tissues, and thus stimulate the regeneration processes. Collagen fibers shrink and tighten, which is why the double chin is less visible, and the skin is more taut and firm.

Endermology - combines lymphatic massage and vacuum massage techniques. The device with a ball head uses negative pressure to break up fat deposits and release them to the lymph nodes, thanks to lymphatic drainage.

Laser lipolysis - summary:

The procedure breaks down fat tissue, stimulates skin renewal and the creation of new collagen fibers.

Laser liposuction is very effective, painless and does not require convalescence. You can return to work the same day. The only symptom is a slight redness of the heated area.

The results are visible after a few weeks, and the optimal effect appears 2-3 months after the procedure.

The procedure perfectly shapes the skin under the chin, removing unnecessary fat and improves the quality of the skin.

Polylactic acid - the king of biostimulants
Do you want to firm and rebuild your skin and slow down its aging? Such effects are provided by a treatment using polylactic acid, which naturally and safely fills the tissues and stimulates skin cells to intensively produce collagen. Did you know that the synthesis of collagen and elastin in the skin decreases by 1% per year? Reduction in the number of collagen fibers leads to the destruction of connective tissue, loss of skin firmness and tension, and the formation of wrinkles. With age, there is also thinning of the epidermis, slower renewal of keratinocytes (epidermal cells), weakening of the dermal-epidermal connection and a decrease in the number of dermal cells. Therefore, aesthetic medicine treatments focus on counteracting skin aging and the changes that accompany it.Among the techniques used in various areas of the face and body, biostimulators lead - preparations that stimulate the synthesis of collagen and elastin, proteins that provide a strong scaffolding for the skin. Of particular note is Poly-L-Lactic Acid (PLLA), which is administered mainly to the body (less often to the face) to fill tissue and improve skin quality.From surgical sutures to tissue engineeringPolylactic acid was synthesized in 1954 by the French company DuPont as a high molecular weight acid. It is a polymer composed of lactic acid monomers obtained during the fermentation of corn dextrose (a simple sugar). It has a long history of use, and the versatile properties of the polymer – non-toxicity, biodegradability, physical and mechanical properties – have enabled the creation of numerous products based on PLLA, such as surgical suture materials in the 1970s, threads, implants and bone fixation devices. Their advantage is that they do not destroy the bone after implantation, as, for example, titanium and other metals.A milestone was the use of PLLA (since 1999) in Europe for the correction of lipodystrophy (loss of fat tissue) in HIV patients receiving antiretroviral therapy. Today, polylactic acid is used in the production of drugs. Parenteral microspheres deliver and slowly release active ingredients in a controlled manner. The latest applications of PLLA are tissue engineering – use in skin autografts, wound dressings, anastomotic systems and stents.How does polylactic acid work?Polylactic acid is experiencing a renaissance in aesthetic medicine. Although it has been present in it for over 20 years, it has recently triumphed as the strongest volumetric biostimulator that restores collagen and has a strong anti-aging effect. PLLA differs from other dermal fillers because it does not provide immediate results. Instead, it causes intensive collagen production in the tissue - for a very long time, even up to several months. The results appear gradually over a few months.Because polylactic acid has a strong stimulating effect, it stimulates the immune system. Therefore, it is important to properly qualify the patient for the procedure and to properly administer the preparation, which is in the form of particles that disperse in the tissue after injection. The preparation with polylactic acid molecules fills the tissues and improves the quality of the skin. For this reason, it works perfectly in the buttocks, on the cleavage, in less firm arms (so-called pelicans) or sagging skin of the abdomen. After injection, polylactic acid reaches the deep layers of the skin and stimulates its cells to produce new collagen fibers and rebuild the skin structure. The effect is filled volume, reduced imperfections and improved skin tension. This method is for people who have "waffled" skin around the thighs and buttocks, especially with advanced cellulite. Polylactic acid eliminates all unevenness on the skin surface. The treatment does not require convalescence, works naturally and is safe. The effect is not immediate, but relatively long-lasting.How the procedure is performedThe preparation is simple to administer - using a thin needle (microcannula minimizes the feeling of pain and the risk of bruising), it is injected into the subcutaneous tissue after prior anesthesia. The body absorbs it easily, because it is a natural substance. The water contained in the preparation is completely absorbed. After injecting the preparation, the doctor performs a special massage to evenly distribute the active compounds, which helps to achieve an excellent final effect.

Duration of the procedure: 20-30 minutes.

Recovery time after the procedure: up to 7 days. There may be slight irritations: bruises, pain, swelling, redness.

Recommended number of treatments: 3 treatments performed every month. Each treatment is a re-stimulation of your own collagen.

Results: the first effects are visible immediately, the final ones after about six weeks. They last from 12 to 24 months, and even up to 30 months. It depends on the lifestyle of the patient.

The PLLA molecule is heavy and irregular, so it absorbs very slowly in tissues. The half-life of PLLA is 31 days, and complete disintegration occurs after about 18 months. Therefore, PLLA is completely biodegradable. Importantly, the stimulation of collagen synthesis begins almost immediately after PLLA injection into the tissues, but increases visibly after 3 months, and after 6 months, the dermis thickens. As studies show, the amount of collagen type I and III on the periphery of PLLA particles increases significantly between 8 and 24 months after injection.Post-treatment recommendations

Massage the treated areas 5 times a day for 5 minutes for a week.

Avoid alcohol, smoking, saunas and sun for a few days after the procedure.

Avoid physical activity for a day after the procedure.

Do not take blood-thinning medications (e.g. aspirin) before and after the procedure.

Maintain special hygiene immediately after the procedure and for the first few days (clean pillowcase, disposable towel).

Drink at least 2 liters of water a day.

Contraindications to the procedureLike any aesthetic medicine procedure, buttock modeling has its contraindications:

Autoimmune diseases.

Tendency to form hypertrophic scars.

Inflammatory skin conditions (herpes, acne).

Allergy to polylactic acid or its components.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding.

What are the effects of polylactic acid?

Improves skin firmness and density.

Evens out skin irregularities on the buttocks, thighs, arms, stomach and reduces cellulite.

Improves skin quality, smoothes and nourishes it.

Breaks down fat tissue in the area of the sides or thighs.

Hyaluronic acidHyaluronic acid is a good filler - it binds water in the tissue, so it fills and shapes it, and at the same time improves the skin's hydration and firmness. The treatment brings immediate results. Unfortunately, it lasts quite a short time - from 6 to 12 months, so it must be repeated often. Injecting this acid into a given area of the body is expensive, because it requires a large amount of the product. In addition, hyaluronic acid is quite a heavy preparation, so injecting it into the buttocks, for example, burdens them. The "implant" stretches the tissue and then disappears, as a result of which the skin loses its natural support.Skin Health and the Effects of Polylactic AcidPolylactic acid (PLLA) is known for its excellent biostimulating properties, which have a positive effect on the health and condition of the skin. By stimulating collagen synthesis, this acid helps rebuild the skin's structure, leading to better firmness and elasticity. Regular use of polylactic acid can contribute to:

Wrinkle Reduction: Polylactic acid helps smooth fine lines and wrinkles, making the skin look younger.

Improved Skin Texture: Thanks to its moisturizing and regenerative properties, the skin becomes smoother and more uniform.

Increased Volume: This acid acts as a natural filler, restoring lost volume in the cheek area, nasolabial folds and other areas.

Skin Firming: Stimulation of collagen production leads to improved skin firmness, which is especially important in areas prone to sagging, such as the abdomen, thighs and buttocks.

Lanluma and PLA threadsIn recent years, innovative products such as Lanluma, which also use polylactic acid, have gained popularity on the aesthetic medicine market. Lanluma is an advanced biostimulator that, in addition to stimulating collagen production, offers long-lasting effects in terms of skin modeling and firming. Thanks to the content of polylactic acid in the form of microspheres, Lanluma works gradually, which ensures a natural look and minimizes the risk of side effects.PLA threads are another application of polylactic acid in aesthetic medicine. These biodegradable threads are introduced under the skin, where they stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, improving the overall condition of the skin. PLA threads act as a natural scaffolding that supports the skin, while contributing to its lifting. Thanks to them, the skin becomes more taut, and the effects are visible for a long time.Benefits of using polylactic acid

Naturalness: Polylactic acid is a biocompatible substance, which means that it is well tolerated by the body and does not cause allergic reactions.

Long-lasting effects: The effects of the treatment are visible for a long time, up to 30 months, which makes it a worthwhile investment in skin health.

Safety: The procedure is minimally invasive, and the risk of complications is minimal, making it an ideal choice for people looking for safe methods of improving their appearance.

Versatility: Polylactic acid can be used in various areas of the body, such as the face, neck, décolleté, buttocks or thighs, making it a versatile preparation in aesthetic medicine.

Laser stimulation instead of hair transplantation. What are its advantages?
Excessive hair loss and its increasingly weaker growth are a cause for concern. Regardless of the cause of the problem, the most important thing is a correct medical diagnosis and effective therapy. Laser hair growth stimulation in a safe, non-invasive and fast way thickens the hair.When combing, some hair always collects on the comb, but losing up to 100 hairs a day should not be a concern - the same number grows back after some time. Hair has a growth, rest and death phase. It grows for 3-6 years, and then falls out within 3 months, ending its natural life. However, with excessive hair loss, the hair moves from the growth phase to the shedding phase more quickly.Why does hair fall out?There can be many reasons, the main ones being:

Too low concentration in blood serum: vitamin D3 level, thyroid hormones, hemoglobin and ferritin (anemia), thyroglobulin, vitamin B, zinc. The most important and simplest is to determine the level of these components, and in the event of deficiency - supplementation until the correct result is achieved. According to the recommendations of prof. Paweł Płudowski and team on the prevention and treatment of vitamin D deficiency, published in the journal "Nutrients" in 2023, the recommended dose of cholecalciferol (vit. D3) for people aged 19-65 is 1000-2000 IU / day (25-50 µg / day) throughout the year, depending on body weight and vitamin D intake in the diet. For people weighing over 75 kg - 4000 units (but not more!). The optimal concentration of 25(OH)D in serum in Poland is >30-50 ng/ml (75-125 nmol/L).

Hormonal disorders - even the smallest ones have a negative impact on the condition of the hair. A decrease in female hormones during menopause and an excess of male hormones, which is a disorder that occurs even in young women. In androgenetic alopecia (the most frequently diagnosed type of baldness in both sexes), diffuse clearings appear in the frontal-parietal area, and receding hairlines also form. Hair follicles become smaller and smaller, and newly formed hair - thinner and thinner. Genes are responsible for the hypersensitivity of the hair follicles of the head to dihydrotestosterone, the active form of testosterone.

Excessive secretion of sebum, causing seborrheic alopecia. The associated drying of the epidermis is the result of staying in air-conditioned rooms, in a polluted environment or using inappropriate shampoos. A damaged epidermal barrier promotes the multiplication of yeast - oily dandruff is formed. Constant irritation causes inflammation, which stimulates hair follicles, which causes hair loss.

Excessive exposure to UV rays in summer and hair loss in autumn.

Mineral deficiencies (vitamins, mineral salts, proteins), especially in women who are losing weight.

Stress causes an increase in protactin levels in women, leading to the imbalance of other hormones and the activation of neuropeptides that affect the improper functioning of the hair follicle.

Tightly tying hair, e.g. in a ponytail - compressed hair follicles are poorly oxygenated and nourished.

Hereditary tendency to baldness. Important: hair loss is usually delayed by 2-3 months in relation to the factor that caused it. Send feedback Side panels History Saved

For whom is the laser?The most important indications for laser hair stimulation:

Excessive hair loss

Improper functioning of the sebaceous glands

Hair without shine

Hair weakened by excessive dyeing

Slow hair growth

Androgenic alopecia

Hair loss after a serious illness, e.g. COVID-19, after treatment, e.g. chemotherapy, or after general anesthesia.

What is laser hair stimulation?The technologically advanced 6D® Erbium-Yag Laser (Er:Yag), used to stop hair loss and regenerate the skin, stimulates hair growth by stimulating hair follicles to work. The laser light pulses and gently heats the deeper layers of the scalp (without the effect of burning the epidermis) - increases blood flow to the hair follicles and releases growth factors. This is done in a safe and controlled manner.Laser hair stimulation with Laser 6D® is a non-invasive, painless, scar-free procedure that does not require long convalescence. The only visible result is new hair that appears after a week.The procedure lasts from 30 to 60 minutes.It is best to perform 6 treatments every 2 weeks, and then one reminder treatment every 6 months.Laser treatment is an excellent alternative to hair transplantation - a method that requires the use of a scalpel, which often leaves scars.Laser is not for everyone – what are the contraindications?taking medications that reduce blood clotting and dilate blood vessels taking oral retinoids in the last 6 months taking photosensitizing medications 2 weeks before the procedure taking steroids (in various forms) drinking herbal infusions of chamomile, calendula, St. John's wort infections, inflammation of the scalp autoimmune diseases, cancer, epilepsy tendency to develop keloid scars pacemaker pregnancy, lactation active viral infection: herpes, HIV, hepatitisAfter the Laser 6D® hair stimulation treatment, avoid sunbathing and protect your scalp from sunlight. It is not recommended to use a sauna, swimming pool, or visit a hairdresser. We recommend using Dr. Gabriela cosmetics.Laser hair stimulation – summary:

Laser treatment stimulates hair follicles to work, to produce and grow new hair and stimulates the skin to regenerate.

Laser stimulation is painless and non-invasive, does not require long convalescence, does not leave scars.

After the treatment, the scalp should be protected from the sun and potential infections and skin irritations should be avoided (swimming pool, sauna).

To maintain the optimal effect, it is necessary to perform 6 treatments every 2 weeks, and then one reminder treatment every 6 months.
